The first 3-way meeting should take place fairly early on in Term 1. Its purpose is to check that the student has settled into the agency and to ensure that the student and the agency have a clear understanding of what is expected. The student is responsible for arranging this meeting and the Practice Tutor facilitates it, using the proforma provided.
The second 3-way meeting takes place in Term 2 after the Christmas submission. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the student's learning and progress and to clarify any areas of development that the student needs in order to pass at the end of the year. The student is responsible for arranging this meeting, which is facilitated by the Practice Tutor, using the form provided.
Students should complete timesheets and have them signed off regularly by the Line Manager throughout the time on the course.
Students should complete an expenses form for expenses in the main agency where agreed by the Line Manager.
You will find here a number of resources designed to assist you in planning and putting together your portfolio.
These Competence Grids need to be completed for each of the competences and put at the front of that competence to show which elements you believe you have demonstrated for each piece of work.
The following proformas should be used as a template for completing the different pieces of work needed for your portfolio:
Evidence of Practice Introductory Sheet (Where specified a 200-500 word explanatory introduction should be included with evidence of practice. This should identify the competence elements demonstrated and summarise the context and what the evidence shows about your practice)
Students undertake practice with two alternative agencies during their time with CYM.
The first alternative placement must be completed by the end of Year 2.
The second can be started from the end of term 1 in Year 2 and must be completed by the end of Year 3.
